Since 1988 Franz Raml has been building up an enormous vocal and instrumental repertoire, using musicians from all over Europe. Having assumed its present name in 1992, the Hassler - Consort is now doing a great deal of concert work in most parts of Germany; numerous radio recordings for the SWF have earned the ensemble a considerable reputation. At present, the group’s work focuses on Monteverdi, Schütz, Bach, Haydn and Mozart. During the Palestrina/Lasso year 1994, a special feature was made of these composers. Drawing on a pool of specialists of similar background and experience, the Consort can vary between a trio of singer, organ and gamba, and an ensemble of as many as 45 musicians, such as the one used for Viadana’s psalms for four choirs.

1988 begann Franz Raml mit professionellen Barockmusikern und Sängern aus ganz Europa ein umfangreiches instrumentales und vokales Repertoire zu erarbeiten. Seit 1992 tritt das Ensemble als Hassler-Consort in ganz Deutschland auf und konnte sich dazu durch zahlreiche Aufnahmen mit dem SWF einen guten Ruf erwerben. Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit standen bisher Werke von Monteverdi, Schütz, Bach, Haydn und Mozart, sowie 1994 Werke von Palestrina und Lasso. Die Besetzungen aus einem Stamm »eingespielter« Musiker reichen von einem Trio wie z. B. Cembalo + Sänger + Gambe bis zu 45 Musikern etwa bei den vierchörigen Psalmen von Viadana.
